Ah, SACS. The school that has been telling boys they are elite since before load shedding was even a concept. Southern Suburbs boys school, so you already know the vibe, chinos on the weekend, dad drives a Land Cruiser, and everyone acts like attending SACS is a personality. 899 boys in one place with no girls around, and the school description says it "does not offer boarding facilities," but bru, the school's own website says there IS boarding. So SACS cannot even describe itself accurately, which is very on brand for a school that charges R71,000 for Grade 12 and still expects parents to bring snacks for the tuck shop. Speaking of R71,000, that is not school fees, that is a deposit on a Polo Vivo. And this is a PUBLIC school. A state school. The WCED is somewhere crying into a government memo while SACS is out here charging fees like it is a private island. Sixty two teachers for 899 boys works out to a 14.5 to 1 ratio, which sounds fine until you remember these are teenage boys from the Southern Suburbs and half of them think "accountability" is something that happens to other people. The school is literally in the heart of Cape Town, mountain views, good roads, close to everything, and they still could not get their own school description right. Jy weet hoe is dit. Overall verdict: SACS is the friend who peaked at school and will not stop talking about it, but you have to admit, the rugby is actually decent.
