The name is giving big promises, like Kimberley itself, talking about diamonds and wealth and history, and then you get there and there are 888 kids being handled by 37 teachers. That is not a school, that is a taxi rank with a timetable. Twenty four kids per teacher, which means your educator is basically just a person standing at the front of the room hoping someone brought a pen. And the description, eish. "It has an enrolment of 888 learners taught by 37 educators, following the National Senior Certificate curriculum." Bru, that is not a school description, that is a Wikipedia stub that gave up halfway through. No boarding, no extra details, nothing. The school said let the name do the work and then the name also did not do the work. Kimberley is literally built on a hole in the ground, the Big Hole, one of the most famous excavations in human history, and Diamantveld looked at that energy and said, yes, we will also dig a hole, but ours is in the school budget for extra staff. Look, Kimberley is a proper South African city with real history and grit, and if you survived 888 learners deep with a 24 to 1 ratio, you are actually built different.
