There is nowhere to hide. You cannot skip class because the teacher will literally phone your mom before you even reach the gate. The ratio is 6 to 1. Six to one. That is basically private tutoring with a school bell. And Piet Retief, hey. Piet Retief in Mpumalanga. Not Sandton, not Constantia, not even Nelspruit. Piet Retief. The kind of town where everyone knows your business before you do, and the biggest event of the year might actually be the Mkhondo House School sports day, which is also probably cancelled because they cannot field two full teams. They are playing against each other. First team versus the rest of the school. The description says they follow the CAPS framework and operate as a fee-paying institution. So you are paying private school fees, in Piet Retief, to sit in a room with 29 other people while 5 teachers watch your every move like it is a nature documentary. No boarding either, so you go home and come back tomorrow for more of the same. To be fair though, with a 6 to 1 ratio, you are probably getting an education that most big schools cannot touch. Overall verdict: Tiny, intense, probably surprisingly decent, but matric rage is going to be a very small braai.
