Evander. EVANDER. Bru, even the name sounds like the town gave up halfway through naming itself. Not quite "Alexander," not quite anything else, just... Evander. Somewhere in Mpumalanga where the wind doesn't blow because even the wind couldn't be bothered to visit. Now let's talk about this ratio. 1052 kids and 44 teachers. That's nearly 24 learners per teacher, which means your educator has about the same chance of knowing your name as a taxi driver has of giving you change. You are basically raising yourself in that classroom. You walked in Grade 1 and figured out by Grade 3 that teacher is not coming to help you, so you may as well help yourself to someone else's eraser and get on with life. And then the school description, written like someone had to submit a form by Friday and just copied the Wikipedia template. "Follows the National Senior Certificate and CAPS curriculum." Bru, every school in South Africa follows CAPS, that is not a selling point, that is just being legal. They basically described themselves as "a building where children go." The one interesting thing they could have said, they left out. What IS TP Stratten actually about? A mystery. Like load shedding, you never quite know what you are going to get when you arrive. Overall verdict: A school that does the job, feeds over a thousand kids through primary school, and somehow keeps the lights on in Evander, which honestly deserves more credit than the description gives it.
