You are a public primary school with 1030 kids and 38 teachers, which means one poor teacher is somewhere in the middle of a classroom of 27 kids just trying to remember everyone's name before the bell rings. Spoiler: they cannot. By Grade 7 your teacher still calls you "hey, jy daar agter." Jy weet hoe is dit. Twenty-seven kids per teacher in a primary school. These educators are not teaching, they are surviving. That is not a classroom, that is a taxi rank with a whiteboard. Someone is always crying, someone is always fighting over a pencil, and the teacher is just standing there like a traffic cop on the N2 hoping everyone gets home safely. Load shedding hits and suddenly 27 kids in the dark become 27 problems at once. To be fair though, 1030 kids at a public school in Mpumalanga means this place is clearly the one people actually choose to send their children to, and that counts for something real. The teachers who show up every day for those ratios deserve a Nando's voucher and a long weekend. Overall verdict: Chaotic, overcrowded, and held together by underpaid teachers who are clearly built different, but the community clearly rates it and honestly, respect where respect is due.
