HTS Ligbron, a school so proud of itself that its entire description reads like a Wikipedia page written by the principal's wife. "Delivers the National Senior Certificate curriculum in line with the CAPS framework." Broe, every school in South Africa does that. That is not a flex, that is just showing up. But listen, you cannot take away from a 100% matric pass rate. That is genuinely impressive. Sixty-two teachers handling 940 kids at 15 students per teacher, which is actually a decent ratio, and they are getting everyone through matric. In Ermelo. Where the highlight of the weekend is probably a drive to Checkers and back. Those teachers are clearly working harder than Eskom on a good day, which admittedly is not saying much, but still. The school's own description is so dry it makes the Karoo look hydrated. No boarding. No special ethos. No big claims. Just "we exist, we teach, goodbye." Honestly there is something almost refreshing about a school that does not pretend it is Hogwarts. HTS Ligbron just quietly delivers a perfect pass rate from the middle of Mpumalanga while fancier schools with prettier websites are busy failing kids in style. Overall verdict: Looks like a government form, runs like a Swiss watch, and if you went here and passed matric, you earned every bit of it.
