But fair enough, the Garden Route is beautiful, we give you that. Now let's talk about this school. 1725 learners and 87 teachers. That is a ratio of nearly 20 to 1, which means your teacher has basically got a small village to manage every single period. You sitting in class waving your hand like you are hailing a taxi on the N1, and the teacher is somewhere in the back trying to remember if you even exist. With boarding on top of that, some of these educators are basically raising other people's children at this point. Respect, honestly, but also yikes. And then R37,460 for Grade 12 fees at a public school. Public. The school's own description had the nerve to specifically clarify "it is not classified as a no-fee school," like they were worried someone might accidentally think this was free. Broe, for that price in George you could rent a house AND still have money left for a braai every weekend. The description is so dry it reads like a form the WCED filled in while load shedding was on and the generator was running low. Overall verdict: A proper big school doing its thing in the heart of George, but at those fees they better be producing doctors, engineers, and at least one Springbok.
