Zwaanswyk Academy, or as the Afrikaans side of the school calls it, Akademie, because apparently they could not agree on just one name and nobody wanted to lose that argument. Very co-educational, very Southern Suburbs, very "we have a mountain view and we want you to know about it." You are not Bishops, broe, you are a public school in Zwaanswyk. Relax. Now let us talk about these numbers. 731 kids, 30 teachers. That is a 24.4 to 1 ratio, which means your teacher is basically a taxi driver, just cramming everyone in and hoping for the best. Thirty educators for 731 learners sounds like a maths problem your Grade 6 teacher wrote on the board while secretly updating her CV. Every class looks like a tuck shop queue on a Friday. Jy weet hoe is dit. And the name, Zwaanswyk, which means Swan Corner in Dutch, very fancy, very Southern Suburbs energy, like the school named itself after a bird to seem classy but still cannot hire enough teachers to give your child individual attention. You are sharing your educator with 23 other kids who also did not do their homework. At least it is co-ed, so there are twice as many people to blame when the project does not get done. Overall verdict: Zwaanswyk Academy is a public school trying to swan around like a private one, but with 30 teachers holding down 731 kids, those swans are absolutely exhausted, and honestly, respect for still flying.
