Load shedding hits, the photocopier dies, the one teacher who actually knows maths is off sick, and now thirty-one children are just vibing in a classroom wondering if this counts as a free period. The City Bowl is right there, the mountain is literally watching, and somehow the staffing situation looks like it was planned during stage six. And the name, Koeberg Primary, named after a nuclear power station. Which is fitting, because with a 31 to 1 ratio, this place is one substitute teacher away from a complete meltdown. The City Bowl location is very fancy to put on your CV but when you are one of 657 kids being looked after by 21 people, you are not getting the City Bowl experience, you are getting the City Bowl survival challenge. Overall verdict: Koeberg Primary is basically a controlled explosion every single day, but somehow the kids come out the other side, and that is honestly impressive.
