Moruleng High School in Seshego, Limpopo. No fees, 575 learners, and 18 teachers trying to hold the whole operation together. Eighteen. Bru, that ratio is 31.9 learners per teacher. One teacher walks into a classroom and it looks like a taxi rank on a Monday morning. Standing room only, someone is definitely sitting on the windowsill, and the teacher at the front is just vibing and hoping for the best. The government said "here is nothing, good luck" and the school said "sharp, watch us." And watch them they did, because 88.6% matric pass rate with those conditions is genuinely embarrassing for every well-resourced school in the country. Constantia schools with their swimming pools and their R50,000 fees and their one teacher per twelve learners are sweating right now. Moruleng is out here running a whole matric class like a taxi with no doors, overcrowded and somehow still arriving on time. This is a no-fee school in Seshego, Limpopo. No fancy branding, no glossy prospectus talking about "holistic development" and "21st century learners." Just teachers who are clearly built different, showing up for 32 kids each and still delivering results that most private schools would put on a billboard. Overall verdict: Moruleng High is basically that guy at the braai who arrives with nothing and somehow outperforms everyone, and the respect is actually real.
