And then they named a school after Hans Strijdom, which is a very bold choice, but you know what, it's Limpopo, they do things their own way out there and we respect the commitment. Now listen, 606 learners and only 35 educators means one teacher is basically herding 17 kids at a time like a farmer moving cattle down the N1. That ratio is not a classroom, that's a taxi. And someone is definitely hanging out the window. But here's the thing that actually breaks my brain, these 17-kids-per-teacher, boom-tree-town, Limpopo public school posted a 96.4% matric pass rate. NINETY SIX POINT FOUR. Meanwhile some fancy school in Constantia with a pool and a chapel and R50 000 fees is sitting quietly hoping you don't ask about their results. Hans Strijdom said hold my biltong. Hoerskool Hans Strijdom is out there in the middle of nowhere, no frills, no nonsense, just teachers who clearly showed up and kids who clearly worked. That pass rate does not lie. The name is a lot, the town is a lot, but the results? The results are undefeated. Overall verdict: Looks like nothing from the outside, hits different on the inside, like most things in Limpopo.
