These kids are not in Grade 7, some of them probably have their own Grade 7s. The school is named Apple Seeds, which is cute, very wholesome, very "we are growing young minds." But with 31 kids per teacher, those seeds are not being watered, they are being planted and left to figure it out. Pure Limpopo sunshine, no irrigation, just vibes and hope. And listen, Malamulele is not a small quiet town where nothing happens. These teachers are carrying the full weight of a community on 65 pairs of shoulders. That ratio is not a school timetable, that is a crisis management plan. One teacher calls in sick and suddenly it is just a room of 62 children and a whiteboard. Overall verdict: Apple Seeds is clearly doing heavy lifting for Malamulele and fair play for that, but calling it "private" with a 31 to 1 ratio is the most optimistic use of the word private since someone called a porta-potty a VIP bathroom.
