Okay so Stanford Lake College. You drove past Polokwane, then past the next town, then past the town after that, then turned left into actual nature, and THERE is your school. Magoebaskloof is beautiful, yes, but bru, your nearest tuck shop is probably a baboon. Your parents did not send you to school, they sent you on a camping trip with homework. And the school description says "near Haenertsburg" like that is supposed to reassure anyone. Near Haenertsburg. HAENERTSBURG. That is not a location, that is a sneeze with a GPS coordinate. But listen, 242 kids and 33 teachers means a 7.3:1 ratio, which means your teacher actually knows your name, your surname, your dog's name, and exactly what you were doing behind the hall on Wednesday. There is nowhere to hide. No sneaking out at lunch, no disappearing into a crowd, nothing. You are in the mountains with 241 other people and every single educator has made eye contact with you personally. Christian ethos on top of that? Eish. God AND your housemaster are both watching. Both. At the same time. They offer NSC and IEB which means they are out here giving you options in the middle of a forest, which is actually quite impressive for a school that sounds like it was built by someone who got lost on a hiking trail and just decided to stay. Respect to the vision, genuinely. Overall verdict: Stanford Lake College is what happens when someone asked "what if Hogwarts was in Limpopo and slightly more Christian?" and then actually built it, and somehow it works.
