Catholic school in Sandton, so you've got confession on one side and a Ferrari dealership on the other. Bless yourself and valet park, my broe. Now listen, 8.5 learners per educator. EIGHT POINT FIVE. At most schools there's one teacher and forty kids who haven't seen a textbook since Grade 9. At St Teresa's, Father Mike basically has you on a one-on-one. You are getting individually watched, individually corrected, and individually judged, which, given the Catholic ethos, tracks perfectly. There is nowhere to hide. Not behind the big kid. Not in the back row. Nowhere. And then the school description. Bru. They wrote "It is a fee-paying, day school with no boarding facilities" like they had to clarify that they are not, in fact, running a hotel. Which, given Sandton prices, is honestly a missed opportunity. 551 kids, IEB curriculum, Rosebank address, Catholic guilt included in the fees. You did not go to school here, you attended an institution. Your lunch break probably had a dress code. The tuck shop sold artisanal vetkoek for R85. Overall verdict: St Teresa's is basically a five-star guilt trip with a school badge on it, but honestly, with that teacher ratio and that IEB pass rate, the guilt is probably worth it.
