You cannot hide at this school. You sneeze in Grade 8 and your Grade 11 teacher says "gesondheid" before you even finish. And listen, Lenasia is Lenasia, we love it, but they really looked at the postcode and said "no no, we are calling this EXCELLENCE." The description they wrote about themselves is so dry it makes the Karoo look humid. "It charges school fees and does not offer boarding facilities." That is it. That is the whole sales pitch. Brother, my uncle sells boerewors at a roadside stall and his sign has more personality than that. 87.2% matric pass rate is actually not bad at all, credit where it is due. But with one teacher watching eight kids like a hawk the whole way through school, the real question is how did the other 12.8% even manage. Your teacher was basically sitting next to you. Overall verdict: Small school, suspiciously close ratio, dangerously confident name, but that pass rate suggests the excellence might actually be real, even if the marketing is not.
