The one in Gauteng that you drive through on the N3 and think "oh we must be getting close to Joburg now." That Heidelberg. Already setting the bar for ambition. Now listen, 89 learners. Eighty. Nine. That is not a school, that is a family WhatsApp group that got out of hand. You have got 10 teachers for 89 kids, which sounds amazing until you realise there is literally nowhere to hide. You cannot skip Mrs van der Merwe's class and blend into the crowd because bru, YOU ARE THE CROWD. The register takes four minutes and the teacher knows your car, your lunch, and your cousin. And then the matric pass rate. 82.4%. At a private school. With a ratio of basically one teacher per nine learners. My guy, the teachers are practically carrying each learner piggyback to the finish line and still almost one in five did not make it through. With that much personal attention you would think the pass rate would be sitting at 100% and the teachers would still have time left over to coach rugby and fix the photocopier. Overall verdict: Sedaven is basically a very expensive tutoring centre that accidentally became a school, but if you like your education intimate, low-key, and located somewhere nobody is rushing to visit, this is your spot.
