HoëRskool Carletonville is sitting there with 1244 learners and only 55 teachers, which works out to one teacher for every 22.6 kids. Broe, that is not a classroom, that is a taxi rank with a whiteboard. The teacher is just vibing in the front, someone is definitely sleeping in the back, and three kids near the window have not been counted since Grade 9. The school's own description of itself is so bare it hurts. "It is a fee-paying school with no boarding facilities." That is it. That is the whole pitch. No boarding, no frills, no personality. They basically wrote their own description like a Form C from Home Affairs. Even the school sounds like it is filling in paperwork just to get through the day. And listen, Carletonville is literally built on top of old gold mines, meaning the ground has been sinking since before your parents were born. The whole town is slowly going down and somehow the school description still could not find a single interesting thing to say about itself. 1244 learners, 55 teachers, somewhere in Gauteng, ja okay thanks goodbye. Overall verdict: HoëRskool Carletonville is the educational equivalent of a government pap, it gets the job done, keeps everyone going, and nobody is complaining out loud, but nobody is posting about it on Instagram either.
