Okay so "Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic School" is a name so long that by the time you finish telling someone where you go to school, you are already late for assembly. They could not decide between a country, a saint, a denomination AND a sub-denomination, so they just used all of them. Your school badge probably needs its own A4 page. Mulbarton, Alberton though. Listen. Mulbarton is giving very much "we wanted Sandton energy but the budget said Alberton." The school is sitting in Gauteng with a name that sounds like it belongs somewhere in the Middle East, following IEB curriculum, which means the fees are already doing the most and the homework is doing even more. IEB in Alberton is like ordering a sushi platter at a Wimpy. Very ambitious. Very expensive. Very specific to a certain type of parent. And the description says "does not offer boarding facilities" like that is something to mention in a flex. Broe. Nobody is driving from Cape Town to board at a primary school in Mulbarton. The only thing sadder than that sentence is that someone typed it with confidence. But credit where it is due, a Maronite Catholic school in Alberton is genuinely one of a kind, and if you survived IEB primary with that school name on your blazer, you have already proven you can handle anything life throws at you. Overall verdict: Confusing on paper, probably solid in practice, and definitely the most interesting answer to "where did you go to primary school" at any braai in Gauteng.
