Fletcherville Junior Secondary School in Mount Fletcher, Eastern Cape. Mount Fletcher. Not even regular Fletcher, bru. They had to put the whole mountain in the name just so you know it is not the flat, successful part of the country. You are literally studying at altitude and somehow the pass rate still feels like it is going downhill. 291 learners, 12 teachers. That ratio of 24 to 1 means your teacher is basically doing a matric presentation to a small stadium every single lesson. One teacher standing up there like, "okay settle down, all 24 of you," and bru that IS settling down. Combined school phase means you have got the little Grade 4s running around the same corridors as the Grade 9s who already have full beards and life regrets. Someone is going to get trampled and it is not going to be the Grade 9. At least it is a no-fee school, which is genuinely a good thing, because Mount Fletcher is not exactly Constantia. Nobody is pitching up here in a Range Rover asking if the facilities have a heated pool. The government is footing the bill, the mountain is providing the backdrop, and 12 educators are doing the absolute most with what they have got, which is a lot of kids and probably not enough chalk. Overall verdict: Fletcherville is basically a small army trying to hold the Eastern Cape together with 12 people and a government budget, and honestly, respect, but somebody please send help.
