Bra, that is not a school, that is a study group that got a government building. You have got more people at a family braai than in this entire school. The one teacher is probably teaching Maths, Life Science, Geography AND coaching rugby on a Friday. One man. One man carrying the whole Eastern Cape Department of Education on his back like a scholar transport taxi carrying seventeen people to the rank. No fees. Government school. Cala. And they are pumping out a 93.3% pass rate while some R50 000 a year private school in Cape Town is out here celebrating 80% like they just won the World Cup. The audacity. The nerve. Pakamani is doing it with 8 staff members and zero rand from the parents and somehow your fancy school with the blazer and the tie and the "holistic development programme" cannot keep up. Embarrassing. Look, Cala is not exactly Constantia. There is no mountain backdrop, no wine estate next door, no parents rocking up in Fortuners for school pickup. But what Cala does have is a little school with almost no resources producing results that would make the WCED cry into their budget spreadsheet. Eight teachers, a handful of kids, and a pass rate that slaps harder than the Eastern Cape wind. Overall verdict: Pakamani looks like nothing on paper, but it is quietly outperforming schools that charge more per term than some people earn in a year, absolute legends.
